Staying at the Schoolhouse

  • What time is check-in and check-out?

    Check-in is from 3:00 PM, and check-out is by 12:00 PM. Early check-in from 10:30 AM and late check-out until 3:00 PM are available for a fee of €35 per adult, subject to availability. Please contact us in advance to arrange this.

  • Is breakfast included with my stay?

    Breakfast is available, but not all room rates include it. You can add our delicious continental or full Irish breakfast when booking or at check-in for an additional fee.

  • Do the rooms have Wi-Fi access?

    Yes, complimentary high-speed Wi-Fi is available throughout the hotel, including guest rooms and common areas.

  • Are there accessible rooms available?

    Our hotel is a charming listed building with a rich history, which unfortunately means we are currently unable to offer full wheelchair accessibility.

  • Are pets allowed in the hotel?

    Pets are not allowed, except for service animals. Please let us know if you’re travelling with a service animal so we can make the necessary arrangements.

  • What amenities are available in the rooms?

    All rooms feature premium amenities, including flat-screen TVs, luxury bedding, tea and coffee-making facilities, hairdryers, and complimentary toiletries. We also provide ironing facilities and a safe in each room.

  • Can I arrange special requests, like flowers or champagne in the room?

    Absolutely! We’re happy to assist with special requests, such as arranging flowers, champagne, or other personalised touches. Please contact us in advance.

  • Does the hotel have an on-site restaurant?

    Yes! Our beautiful GastroBar offers a cosy, inviting atmosphere, perfect for enjoying breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The menu features a blend of contemporary Irish cuisine, with fresh, locally sourced ingredients. Whether you’re indulging in a hearty meal or sipping a cocktail in our leafy garden, the GastroBar is ideal for a relaxing dining experience.

  • Are non-hotel guests allowed to dine at the restaurant?

    Yes, our GastroBar is open to the public for all meals. Hotel guests have a private space for breakfast, but everyone is welcome to enjoy lunch and dinner in our restaurant.

  • Can I book a table for 8 or more at GastroBar?

    Certainly! For larger groups, we prefer to tailor our service to meet your needs. Please contact our events team in advance to arrange a personalised experience for your gathering.

  • Are there other places to eat or drink in the area

    In addition to our own gastrobar, the area around the Schoolhouse Hotel offers a great selection of dining and drinking spots. Here are a few nearby favourites:

  • Do you host corporate events or intimate celebration?

  • Can I hire a private room for meetings or presentations?

    Our boardroom, the Dean & Woodward Suite, is fully equipped with state-of-the-art technology, perfect for private meetings, video conferences, and workshops. It accommodates up to 16 people. Let us help tailor the space to your needs.

  • Can we bring a DJ?

    No, as we are also a hotel we cannot allow very loud music because of our other guests. However, we do have surround sound in our Blue Room that we can connect your device.

  • Can you advise on bespoke events?

    Yes, we can provide you with excellent contacts and unique local event specialists. We have a great relationship with a local florist, baker and photographer. Just ask us for recommendations!

  • Can we alter the menus?

    We typically serve a seasonal 3-course meal or platter menus. We are open to small changes to the menu to make your event as special as possible. However, all changes must be confirmed by our Head Chef. Please let us know of any alterations and we can see if it would be possible.

  • What are some nearby attractions to visit?

    The hotel is conveniently located near many of Dublin’s top attractions. Trinity College and the Book of Kells, the National Museum of Ireland, and Grafton Street are all just a short walk away. For a peaceful escape, head to the nearby Herbert Park.

  • Are there parks or outdoor spaces nearby?

    Yes! Herbert Park, a lovely green space for walks or picnics, is just a few minutes away. St. Stephen’s Green, another iconic park, is a 15-minute stroll from the hotel.

  • What activities are available for families?

    Families can enjoy a trip to Dublin Zoo in Phoenix Park, interactive exhibits at EPIC The Irish Emigration Museum, or a visit to the National Museum of Ireland – Natural History. Herbert Park also has playgrounds for outdoor fun.
